Before and After
Revolutionizing Skin Rejuvenation
Tixel is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment that uses proprietary targeted heat to improve skin complexion and reverse photoaging damage. Pain and downtime are minimal compared to laser and radiofrequency treatments, and makeup can be applied the day after treatment.
Why Tixel?
With Tixel treatments, the skin heals quickly and looks vibrant and glowing within a few days of treatment. The procedure is non-invasive and has minimal side effects. In office, the treatment is comfortable and there is minimal downtime. Patients have noticeable results with a few, short treatment sessions.
What Areas Can be Treated with Tixel?
The Tixel treatment can be used to remedy a number of sin concerns including:
- Acne scars
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Stretch marks
- Sagging skin, including eyebags and sagging eyelids
- Uneven pigmentation, skin discoloration or melasma
- Rosacea
- Age spots
How many treatments are required?
Tixel is usually used in a series of three to four treatments performed every 4 to 6 weeks. Some people may require additional treatment to achieve desired results. The treatment causes redness and swelling that can last for as little as 3 days with light treatments up to 10 days with more aggressive treatments.
What to Expect
You may expect:
- A sensation of heat, like a very strong sunburn that may last for several hours on the day of treatment.
- Redness, swelling and treatment marks that may last for 3 to 10 days depending on the level of treatment.
- Sloughing of skin with washing on days 3 to 5.
Common side effects include
- Temporary slight swelling and “pinkness” (similar to a mild sunburn) generally last a few hours, but may last 1-2 days.
- Bronze microspots usually appear after 1-2 days and will last 1-2 days until they flake off. For treatments with very aggressive settings, some patients might experience mild exudate and flaking/peeling of skin in the aggressively-treated area.
- Milia/acne can be seen in acne prone treatment areas and due to post treatment ointment use. This clears on its own but you can notify office and pick up samples to clear faster.
- Herpes Simplex: this is avoided by taking oral antivirals one day prior and for 5 days after treatment.
- Burning, itching, or pain: this is very temporary and easily treated with topicals discussed in pre and post care.
- Rare possibility of burn, blistering, erosion or scar at the treatment site may develop. Usually avoided by not picking off any crusting or using any unapproved topicals.
Be sure to contact the office with unusual symptoms like excessive pain, oozing, crusting, blistering, or reappearance of swelling after the initial swelling has resolved.
